Diagnosis and treatment of skin and soft tissue formations

Tumors appear on the skin and soft tissues, which is quite common phenomenon (Neoplasm).

They can be divided into types: benign, precancerous (at risk of malignancy) and malignant.

In out clinic, the differential diagnosis between benign malignant tumors is made with an optical, digital dermatoscope, aspiration and, if necessary, trepan biopsy. This is a necessary condition for selecting further, correct treatment tactics.

Following the general principles of oncology, malignant tumors should be excised within healthy tissue to prevent recurrence of tumor growth.

In cases of benign tumors, in addition to surgical resection, we use:

  • A modern thermocauter from the American company Bovie;
  • British Spilby CO2 cryodestructor;
  • Brymill Nitrogen cryodestructor;
  • Ethicon radiofrequency coagulator;
  • Circular scalpel-pointer and chemical reagents.

        A wide range of methods is required to consider the following characteristics:

  • Where the growth is located (on the face or other part of the body where there is relatively rough skin);
  • What type of growth does it have - subcutaneous (exogenous), on the surface of the skin, or no long legs (endogenous);
  • What kind of cellular structure is formed. The removed tumor is sent for histomorphological and, if necessary, immunohistochemical studies.

Timely visit to the doctor, diagnosis and optimal treatment will prevent the growth of the tumor and its possible metastasis. Delayed treatment complicates treatment and requires the inclusion of methods such as: chemotherapy, hormone and radiation therapy.
